I'm building and extending GitLab's AI Gateway, routing enterprise AI requests to Anthropic, Vertex AI, and OpenAI while adding entitlement controls, tenant isolation, rate limiting, prompt-injection defenses, PII redaction, and audit logging.
Previously at Canva, I built Spring Boot microservices serving template metadata to 150M+ monthly active users and delivered shared backend services for the Visual Suite. At Rapid7, I built cloud asset harvesting pipelines processing tens of millions of records daily and improved harvest reliability from ~94% to ~99.2%.
Across eClinicalWorks and The Hanover Insurance Group, I've worked on HIPAA-regulated healthcare systems, claims APIs, audit infrastructure, CI/CD, and legacy Java migrations. I build reliable systems, respect production, secure the data, and measure the AI.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Maintained and extended the AI Gateway, built permission-aware RAG pipelines for GitLab Duo Chat, and developed evaluation harnesses for Code Suggestions. Hardened the gateway against adversarial inputs and implemented audit logging for compliance.
Built and maintained Java microservices for template metadata, led localization service development, and delivered shared backend services for the Visual Suite platform. Also built AI provider wrapper services with cost monitoring and content safety.
Built cloud asset harvesting pipelines for InsightCloudSec, processing millions of records daily. Led taxonomy migration post-acquisition and improved harvest reliability through instrumentation and alerting.
Built REST claims APIs and audit-log services for compliance. Migrated services to CI/CD pipelines and led a legacy policy module migration to Java.
Triaged and validated clinical workflow defects across EHR modules, wrote regression tests and SQL queries. Developed audit-log verification patterns for HIPAA-regulated software.
