I’m a detail-oriented medical coding professional (AAPC Certified Professional Coder – CPC) with a strong foundation in insurance coverage, Medicare guidelines, and confidential documentation. I bring excellent verbal and written communication, strong organization, and the ability to multi-task accurately in fast-paced healthcare settings.

In my patient-facing roles at Select Physical Therapy and ECHN, I served as a key liaison between patients and the physical therapy team—registering patients, scheduling appointments, and managing payer approvals. I handled insurance authorizations and verifications, collected co-pays, and ensured patients had clear information for their next steps at checkout.

Earlier, as a Medical Receptionist for Dr. Howard J. Gelb, MD, I worked across the operational side of care coordination: entering patient demographics and notes into a PM/EHR database, verifying eligibility and claims status, and maintaining strict patient and physician confidentiality. I also supported billing-related workflows including calculating patient responsibility, posting payments, researching A/R, and managing patient collections—plus I created a training manual for new and future employees.

Before that, I worked as an Insurance Verification Specialist at Rapid Relief Medical/Reliable Medical Products, where I focused on DME record collection and insurance readiness, including in-network and out-of-network verification. I became comfortable with EOBs and coding systems (CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS), using Availity and phone/internet/fax processes to obtain claim status and ensure appeal-ready medical records.
