I'm building bioinformatics tools for protein engineering and sequence analysis while pursuing an M.S. in Bioinformatics at Loyola University Chicago.
As a Bioinformatics Intern in the Dr. Kekenes-Huskey Lab at Stritch School of Medicine, I developed PyRosetta tools and a simulated annealing optimizer to engineer LQHIII variants for cardiac-like NaV1.5 binding.
I evaluated 160 variants using interaction distances and predicted ΔG to identify favorable candidates. My projects also include AEGIS, a command-line machine learning pipeline that predicts mutational hotspots in viral protein sequences from NCBI data.
I've developed reproducible Python CLI tools for FASTA processing, evaluated machine learning models for stroke prediction, and taught biology, genetics, and laboratory techniques as a General Biology TA.
