What I'm looking for
I identified and prioritized potential therapeutic targets in Burkholderia pseudomallei through an integrated computational drug-discovery pipeline spanning comparative genomics, pan-genome analysis, subtractive genomics, metabolic modelling, structural bioinformatics, and molecular docking.
As a Research Intern at the Centre for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Dibrugarh University, I analyzed core, accessory, and unique gene sets across multiple strains and prioritized essential, pathogen-specific, non-host-homologous targets. I also performed in silico gene knockout and flux-based essentiality analysis using a Burkholderia cenocepacia genome-scale metabolic model, assessing model quality with MEMOTE.
I evaluate target tractability through protein structure validation, binding-site prediction, druggability assessment, and protein–ligand interaction analysis. I'm currently contributing to a manuscript reporting these findings and enjoy turning large genomic and structural datasets into biologically meaningful outcomes.
Alongside my MSc in Bioinformatics, I've mentored biology students internationally, tutored learners across Grades 2–12, and presented research on ethnomedicinal practices at NCCTBSA-24.
