Prasanna Sarmah

I’m a research-oriented Biotechnology and Bioinformatics professional with expertise in computational biology, medicinal plant research, transcriptomics, molecular docking, and cheminformatics. As a Project Associate at CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology (CSIR-NEIST) for 5 years, I conduct computational analysis and identify phytochemicals against major human diseases, using biomarker-driven pathway and network analysis in stress signaling and disease resistance.

I bring a strong interdisciplinary focus—integrating omics data with machine learning for biological insight and prediction—and I’m comfortable collaborating across experimental and computational teams. My work is grounded in structural biology & molecular modelling (MODELLER, SWISS-MODEL, AlphaFold, PyMOL, Chimera/ChimeraX, AutoDock/AutoDock Vina, Schrödinger Suite) and molecular dynamics & computational chemistry (GROMACS, AMBER, NAMD, MD simulations, umbrella sampling, metadynamics, replica exchange, DFT, QM/MM), alongside bioinformatics and databases like RNA-seq analysis and ChEMBL/PubChem/PDB/UniProt/AlphaFoldDB.
