At University of Kashmir, I studied how the ubiquitin-proteasome system regulates Cdt2. My Ph.D. research identified a p53-independent role for Mdm2 in restraining Cdt2 E3 ligase activity and supporting G2/M transition and cell-cycle progression.
As a Project Associate on “Role of the Ubiquitin-Proteasome System in DNA Damage Response,” I studied ubiquitinases and deubiquitinases in genomic stability under genotoxic stress. I used cell viability, proliferation, and rescue assays, along with proteasome inhibition and DUB assays.
I’ve also taught clinical and honors biochemistry, delivered lectures, and supervised practical laboratory sessions and student research projects. My research has resulted in publications and book chapters on topics including ubiquitin ligases, RNA splicing, plant microRNAs, and CRISPR/Cas technology.
