At Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), I cloned, expressed, and characterized recombinant rice Cu-Zn SOD1 and SOD2. I improved SOD1 solubility by ~99% over baseline and purified it to ~99% purity using Ni-NTA affinity and gel filtration chromatography.
At Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), I isolated genomic DNA from over 133 rice backcross progenies and performed PCR-based genotyping across more than 5,400 PCR reactions. I used capillary electrophoresis and allele binning in Gene Mapper to identify desirable progenies.
For my M.Tech thesis, I synthesized and characterized PLA and developed a biodegradable PLA-gelatin-chitosan hydrogel composite for controlled-release fertilizer applications. Optimizing the synthesis increased yield from 49.25% to 60.33%.
I hold an M.Tech in Agricultural Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and an M.Sc in Botany. My research work has included SOP-driven documentation, molecular biology, protein science, and analytical instrumentation; I’m also proficient in Python and statistical analysis.
