At TheFoost, I lead backend architecture for a multi-tenant restaurant platform and extracted its guest-facing service from a Next.js/tRPC monolith into a standalone NestJS and Fastify service. I also built an integrations gateway and a task-queue worker for AI jobs.
At ELMIS, I built the backend for EMDMS, a national-scale government platform used by MoLSA to manage millions of migrant records. I authored system-design and API documentation and implemented Kafka pipelines processing hundreds of thousands of events daily.
At Afriwork, I built a Python Resume Extractor for a job platform serving 500,000+ job seekers, using Mistral OCR and Gemini 2.5 to structure resumes into JSON. I also overhauled job notifications, cutting delivery time 2–5×, and designed an analytics pipeline using Amazon SQS, Kafka, and ClickHouse.
At Prophecius Tech, I was promoted to Lead Developer within three months and directed technical delivery for a team of five engineers. I reviewed code, documented API-security and system-design standards, and mentored junior engineers; my open-source work includes a PostgreSQL extension for the Ethiopian calendar and a contribution to an international phone validation library.
