Harshit Gupta

I build and ship backend systems with an obsession for reliability, observability, and developer productivity. As a Founding Engineer, I built and self-hosted an observability stack from scratch following the OpenTelemetry standard, using Loki for logs, VictoriaMetrics for metrics, and Grafana for visualization.

I’ve also partnered on product and revenue outcomes—tackling complex technical and product problems and building a new revenue stream by manipulating RFPs (Excel based questionnaire) over the web platform and integrating AI capabilities to streamline proposal generation.

Previously at Zomato, I worked across performance-critical infrastructure and scalable developer tooling. I implemented a Go package that reduced experimentation backend load from 3 million RPM to 60 RPM (with latency improvements in p50) and built agentic AI tools, including a Go backend gateway/worker/cron that performs realtime OpenSearch indexing, authorization, and hosts remote MCP tools.

Across my experience, I’ve focused on scalable systems and operational rigor—managing AWS development infrastructure, running load testing, optimizing load shedding, and implementing pre- and auto-scaling. I’ve also co-developed key ordering and scheduling pipelines, collaborating across teams to solve difficult logistics and UX problems.
