Gianni Cottone

I am a dedicated computer science student at the University at Buffalo, set to graduate in May 2025. My academic journey has equipped me with a solid understanding of algorithms, distributed systems, and software engineering concepts. I have a passion for developing innovative solutions, as demonstrated through my projects, where I utilized languages such as Python, Kotlin, and Go to create functional applications and systems.

One of my notable projects includes developing a reinforcement learning agent for the OpenAI Gymnasium, where I optimized hyperparameters to enhance learning efficiency. Additionally, I collaborated with a team to build a message board Android app, where I played a key role in designing the user experience and managing the project workflow using Agile methodologies. My experience extends to implementing the Raft Consensus Algorithm, showcasing my ability to work with distributed systems and ensure fault tolerance.
