What I'm looking for

I’m looking to grow in a team where data science makes a difference, using data to uncover patterns and solve real-world problems.

On the CDLI Non-Standard Speech Hackathon project at Strathmore University, I was a modeling team member and fine-tuned OpenAI Whisper on Kenyan atypical speech. The model achieved a 22% Word Error Rate improvement and was used to build speech product prototypes.

For my Customer Churn Prediction project, I built an XGBoost and neural network ensemble that achieved 94.7% AUC on 10k+ telecom records. I also deployed a Streamlit dashboard with SHAP explanations and stored data on AWS S3.

As a Data Scientist, I’ve worked on cleaning data, building predictive models, and turning raw numbers into usable insights. At ITrend Stores, I improved sales forecasting accuracy by 20% and automated reporting with Excel and Python, cutting reporting time by 40%.

At Learnly Africa, I deliver live instruction in Python, SQL, Excel, Power BI, and data visualization. I guide students through the data analysis lifecycle and refine course materials based on feedback.
