What I'm looking for

I’m looking to lead engineering teams and cloud-first platform re-architecture—owning DevOps, scalability, and AI integrations like RAG—while partnering with Product to deliver high-impact, fail-tolerant systems.

I’m a Principal Engineer Manager focused on building scalable, fail-tolerant platforms and modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native architectures. Over the years, I’ve repeatedly led platform re-architecture efforts—owning both technical direction and delivery execution.

At my current role (2/2015–4/2026), I led a full platform rework, migrating from a legacy JSP + Express-style stack to a modern setup using AngularJS and a backend API (RestiFI). I spearheaded moving the entire stack to AWS, configuring EC2 with VPCs, Elastic Load Balancers, and IAM policies, and using S3 for video/image transcoding, CSV processing, and SFTP fronting.

As I evolved the platform, I guided the move from AngularJS to React and mobile development, and most recently led integration of an AI assistant with a RAG service architecture using Amazon Bedrock and a MongoDB vector database. Before having a dedicated Engineer for it, I handled DevOps myself and moved everything to AWS except our MongoDB.

I also build teams alongside the systems: I managed and coached engineers from 3 to 5 to 8, ran day-to-day execution, sprint planning, and code reviews, and drove performance feedback. I work closely with Product and stakeholders to align technical priorities with business goals, consistently translating platform improvements into measurable outcomes.
