Francis Baluwa

I am an Agricultural Economist with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, focused on agricultural marketing, policy analysis, and farm business management.

During an internship at the Ministry of Agriculture (attached to the Planning Department) I assisted in the preparation of policy papers, management reports, budgets and briefing materials, conducted agricultural research to inform policy and project development, and provided planning, monitoring and evaluation support.

At the Smallholder Farmers Fertilizer Revolving Fund of Malawi I managed sales of fertilizer and non-fertilizer products, took charge of satellite depot operations, maintained accurate stock records and prepared daily sales summaries while advising customers on product selection and application methods.

I bring strong mathematical, analytical and statistical skills, experience in project planning, monitoring and evaluation, and strengths in financial and managerial accounting; I work well with little supervision and synthesize information from diverse sources to support agricultural development and policymaking.
