Dr Bilal Khaki
@drbilalkhaki
I advance sustainable forest management through silviculture, climate research, and field-based forestry experience.
What I'm looking for
I'm currently serving with the J&K Forest Department in a field-based forestry role under the Rehbar-e-Janglat scheme, applying my PhD research in silviculture and forest management to sustainable ecosystem management.
I've contributed to Jammu & Kashmir climate-change work through the National Mission for Sustainable Himalayan Ecosystem, including a State Action Plan on Climate Change synthesis report and a sectoral CO₂ emission inventory. My research spans forest regeneration, biomass carbon, forest-fire soil impacts, ethnobotany, medicinal plants, and agroforestry carbon sequestration.
I've also prepared EIA/EMP studies for iron ore deposits, evaluated Joint Forest Management practices in Northern India, and gained industrial forestry exposure with BILT Paper Industries.
