Daniella Brito
@daniellabrito
Curatorial specialist and arts programmer amplifying underrepresented cinematic voices.
What I'm looking for
I am a curatorial specialist and arts programmer with a background in film, moving-image archiving, and public programming. I earned a Bachelor’s with Honors in Art History from Oberlin College and have developed research-driven exhibitions, screenings, and written work for museums and cultural organizations.
At the Schomburg Center I promote visibility for moving-image collections, manage centennial film programming, oversee licensing and rights clearance, and represent holdings to institutions and donors. I direct staff and collaborator deliverables across production, outreach, and oral-history initiatives.
I have held fellowships and roles with RADA Collaborative, The Kitchen, and Queer|Art, where I organized programs, led talkbacks, drafted budgets, produced award processes, and edited resident publications. I have also written for publications including Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, and Document Journal.
I bring editorial rigor, event production experience, and community-centered curatorial practice focused on BIPOC and queer/trans narratives. I seek roles where I can combine curation, research, and public engagement to expand access to underrepresented moving-image and visual art practices.
