Da'Juan Britten
@dajuanbritten
Visual arts educator blending digital media and studio rigor to build confident, independent artists.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Visual Arts teacher with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Media from the University of Alabama and provisional certification in a teaching field, currently completing the final steps toward full professional licensure. I bring creative practice, standards-aligned curriculum design, and leadership experience to every studio classroom.
I founded and helped launch charter-school instruction, then translated that momentum into high-expectations, multi-medium art programs. I run structured, safe, productive studios that blend traditional and digital tools—watercolor, ceramics, printmaking, Krita, and SketchUp—so students build technical skill and creative thinking alongside real classroom independence.
Across elementary and middle school, I’ve designed engaging curricula (including digital painting and 3D modeling) and differentiated instruction using resource-conscious, constraint-based projects. I assess with clear rubrics, communicate proactively with stakeholders, and strengthen program presence through schoolwide exhibitions and visible student showcases.
Before teaching, I served as a Marine Corps combat engineer, where I led teams, managed high-risk operations, and solved complex problems under pressure. That same discipline shows up in my classroom systems, data-driven adjustments, and commitment to equitable access—especially when students have had limited opportunity for arts instruction.
