Curtis Grover

I’m an Educator with over eleven years of experience teaching computer science and mathematics while leading high-performing teams. I bring a strong foundation in Java concepts and the ability to learn quickly, problem solve, communicate clearly, and drive measurable results.

In my roles with Fairfax County Public Schools and Trinity Christian School, I taught a wide range of classes including Intro Computer Science, AP Computer Science A, and advanced CS courses alongside Algebra and Geometry. I improved AP Computer Science outcomes, achieving an 83% pass rate at Trinity Christian School after prior results were consistently below the national average (approximately 65% pass rate).

I designed and delivered introductory programming units in Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python, and I created/adapted curriculum now widely used across FCPS Computer Science teachers. I focus on curriculum design and technical instruction grounded in algorithmic thinking and problem decomposition.

Outside the classroom, I led youth development initiatives and coached developmental travel teams, collecting and analyzing performance data to measure athlete growth and program effectiveness. As a Varsity Basketball Assistant Coach at Lake Braddock Secondary School, I contributed to four conference championships while designing and analyzing data-driven systems to guide strategy in high-pressure environments.
