At IRCCS Istituto Centro San Giovanni di Dio Fatebenefratelli, I design Machine Learning, NLP, and LLM solutions for clinical data analysis. This includes open-source Italian biomedical models with 100k+ downloads.
I designed and implemented an AI-driven Clinical Trial management solution with Novartis, involving AI-agent data extraction, synthetic patient data generation, and clinical trial simulation. With Synlab, I developed and fine-tuned an LLM pipeline for radiology report classification, testing it on 80k+ MRI reports.
My research has included an NLP pipeline integrated with REDCap APIs to extract and store clinical data for 15 Italian research hospitals. I’ve also published 25+ peer-reviewed articles, with an h-index of 13.
Earlier, I developed data engineering pipelines for industrial machinery data acquisition at TOOLS for SMART MINDS and Machine Learning algorithms for physical activity classification at University of Brescia / University of Linz. I currently coordinate the Electronics and Computer Science course curricula at Istituto Tecnico Tecnologico Francesco Baracca.
