Christian Fung
@christianfung
Highly skilled bioinformatician with expertise in clinical genomics research.
What I'm looking for
I am a dedicated bioinformatician with nearly a decade of experience in clinical and viral genomics research. My work focuses on leveraging advanced bioinformatics techniques and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data to unravel the complexities of clinical and viral genomes. I have authored 22 peer-reviewed publications and presented my findings at distinguished conferences, contributing to breakthrough discoveries in the field.
In my current role as a Bioinformatics Associate at WRAIR, I have analyzed thousands of viral genomes, developed novel algorithms for genome assembly, and collaborated with infectious disease researchers to identify genomic markers associated with viral virulence and drug resistance. My experience also includes mentoring junior bioinformaticians, ensuring the next generation of researchers is well-equipped to tackle the challenges in bioinformatics.
