Chele Nangati

I’m a dedicated GIS Technician with practical experience in spatial data collection, processing, analysis, mapping, and database management. I focus on turning field and remotely sensed data into accurate, usable GIS outputs for land management and spatial planning.

In my recent role, I collected, processed, and analyzed geospatial data using GPS, digitising techniques, and remote sensing tools to support council land management and spatial planning projects. I also performed spatial data cleaning, validation, georeferencing, and coordinate transformation to ensure reliable GIS analysis and mapping.

I create, update, and maintain GIS databases using ArcGIS Pro and QGIS, keeping data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility strong. I produce thematic maps and spatial visualisations to support planning, land management, and decision-making.

I’m hands-on in the field as well—conducting field data collection using Kobo Collect, ODK, and mWater applications, plus quality control checks to resolve data inconsistencies. I’m motivated by technical documentation, reporting, and ongoing database maintenance that keep GIS operations effective and trustworthy.
