Burhan Khan

I’m Burhan a software engineer with over four years of experience building and scaling products across SaaS, fintech, healthcare, e-commerce, and automation platforms.

Over the years, I’ve worked across the full stack, but most of my focus has been on the frontend using React and Next.js, along with backend development using Ruby on Rails, Python, and Node.js frameworks like Express and NestJS.

I’m comfortable working with different types of databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB, and I usually choose the right tool depending on the scale and requirements of the product.

One area I’ve worked quite deeply in is the Shopify ecosystem. I’ve built and optimized e-commerce features, handled migrations from REST to GraphQL, and worked on improving performance, scalability, and reliability to meet Built for Shopify standards.

Beyond feature development, I’ve also been involved in production ownership—deploying services on AWS, setting up CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring applications using tools like Sentry. I focus a lot on observability and making sure issues are caught early before they impact users.

I also put strong emphasis on quality and performance. I write automated tests and have used tools like JMeter for load and performance testing to better understand system behavior under real-world traffic.

Most of my experience has been across both startup and enterprise environments, so I’m comfortable working cross-functionally, adapting to different team structures, and taking ownership from idea to production. I’ve also led small teams of engineers and SQAs, focusing on clean code, consistent delivery, and mentoring.

I’m particularly interested in this role because it aligns well with my experience and gives me the opportunity to continue building impactful products while growing as an engineer.
