Brian Dong
@briandong516
I build responsive web systems, APIs, and real-time applications across full-stack projects.
What I'm looking for
I built a front-end system for Estate Ease, an NJII-mentored AI real estate startup supported by the NJEDA Innovation Fellows Program. Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I improved accessibility and load performance by about 30% through semantic markup, refined typography, and lightweight components.
At Micobyte Software, I developed Python modules and backend logic for a student-led financial modeling system supporting cross-asset analytics. I designed JSON schemas, documented API workflows, automated validation, and improved data-handling efficiency by about 20%.
I also served as Scrum Master for a five-member Agile team, coordinating sprints, stand-ups, and backlog work to deliver on schedule. My projects include distributed multiplayer systems with PHP and RabbitMQ, Dockerized web applications, FastAPI services, e-commerce platforms, and Java socket-based chat applications.
Outside engineering, I led NJIT Student Senate's 40-member executive board and oversaw a $1.3M annual budget representing more than 10,000 students. I enjoy connecting technical delivery with practical improvements for users, teams, and communities.
I have had lifelong interest in game design and web developing leading to furthering my education from a BS in IT, specializing in web applications, to a BS/MS in Software Engineering.
