Brent Riley
@brentriley
Public health and epidemiology researcher using SAS and R to translate data into actionable health insights.
What I'm looking for
I’m a public health–trained researcher focused on epidemiology, health disparities, and turning evidence into clear communication. Currently, I’m conducting epidemiologic analysis of cardiovascular disease mortality among American Indian and Alaska Native populations.
My work blends reproducible analytics with strong research practice. I develop statistical workflows in SAS, contextualize findings through literature review on structural determinants, and support dissemination through public health communication materials.
Alongside epidemiology, I bring hands-on laboratory research experience from roles as a Research Technician. I’ve performed immunoblot assays, PCR/RT-PCR, tissue culture, immunofluorescence assays, and viral transduction-related methods to investigate host factors and influenza biology.
I care deeply about equitable outcomes and community-informed interpretation. From my research training to my volunteer leadership, I aim to contribute to prevention and improved health for underserved communities, while continuing to grow as a data-driven public health professional.
