Brandon Dorr-Swendig
@brandondorr-swendig
I source, diligence, and build investment theses for deep-tech ventures across hard sciences.
What I'm looking for
At Engine Ventures, I source and evaluate pre-company academic technologies and early-stage spinouts across advanced hardware, climate, industrial tech, and neurotech. I turn literature, founder data, and 20+ stakeholder interviews into investment theses, commercialization pathways, budgets, and go/no-go assessments.
My MIT PhD research paired protein engineering, biocatalysis, computational design, and scientific Python with direct government and industry collaboration. I also build commercial models, support biotech founders through Nucleate Eco, and help technical teams communicate work clearly to non-specialist audiences.
