M.D. General Practitioner with leadership experience and aspiration to specialize in neurosurgery.
What I'm looking for
I am an M.D. general practitioner with hands-on clinical experience across emergency, inpatient and outpatient services, and a strong aspiration to become a neurosurgeon. I completed my medical degree at Mekelle University with a cGPA of 3.07 and a year-long internship across major hospitals.
I have led clinical teams as OPD Director at Quiha General Hospital, supervising 25 staff across six OPDs and serving on the hospital management team. I coordinated large-scale IDP health services, providing care to over 15,000 internally displaced persons and delivering vaccination, emergency, reproductive health, and mental health services.
In addition to clinical work, I have substantial experience as an Amharic and Tigrigna medical interpreter and language-access liaison, with roles in VRI/OPI and quality review for multiple organizations. I volunteer frequently, supporting IDP clinics and community health initiatives focused on emergency care, vaccinations, and psychosocial support.
I bring strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills, certifications in sexual and reproductive health and HIPAA compliance, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. I am seeking opportunities that allow continued clinical practice while progressing toward neurosurgical training.
