Avery Jackson
@averyjackson
Heritage-focused GIS specialist combining conservation, remote sensing, and community engagement.
What I'm looking for
I am a heritage-focused GIS specialist with advanced training in cultural heritage conservation and geographic information systems. My academic work includes a master's thesis using remote sensing and GIS to map Roman infrastructure between Lambease and Mascula.
I have hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, remote sensing/LiDAR tools, and programming in Python, SQL, HTML, and CSS, applied across built-heritage projects and geophysical surveys.
Professionally, I have led community initiatives as a founder and charity president, created grant applications, developed websites, and served as a historical researcher and curatorial assistant for university and museum projects.
I communicate technical findings clearly to stakeholders, manage digital heritage inventories, and deliver projects under deadlines—seeking roles where I can merge GIS, conservation, and public-facing heritage work.
