Aryamawit Neway
@aryamawitneway
I’m a bilingual physician and public health professional building culturally responsive mental health care.
What I'm looking for
I’m a bilingual Amharic-English physician and public health professional with clinical, behavioral health, and community-based care experience in the United States and Ethiopia. I bring culturally responsive communication to support patients, families, and care teams through clearer understanding and education.
As a Clinical MentalHealth Coordinator at a nonprofit outpatient clinic, I provide culturally responsive mental health screening, care coordination, and community outreach for youth and families. I facilitate communication among patients, families, behavioral-health providers, and community partners to support intake, follow-up, referrals, and patient education.
My experience also includes research and clinical practice. I worked as a Mental Health & Social Equity Research Assistant synthesizing mental health policy and research, and as a Practicum Field Researcher conducting qualitative health-workforce research with interviews, translation, qualitative coding, and evidence-based policy recommendations.
Leadership has been central to how I create impact, including founding and serving as Executive Director of the VOX Youth Project with the Ethiopian Ministry of Education. I designed a hybrid mentorship model reaching 150K+ students and now focus on bridging language and cultural barriers—especially through remote Amharic medical/community interpreter opportunities.
