At Barcelona Supercomputing Center, I’m continuing research on the R3NUrb project, reconstructing the Roman road network to understand urban development. I use remote sensing and spatial analysis to model how connectivity and mobility influenced urbanisation and the long-term success of urban centres.
For the Economic Landscapes of Roman Istria Project, I’ve co-directed excavation work and been responsible for successful funding proposals and logistical planning. I also lead excavation teams in the field and work with the project’s GIS data.
My research combines archaeology with computational and spatial methods. I’ve used R, Python, QGIS and other tools to analyse geospatial data, and have delivered digital humanities training in data analysis, visualisation and geospatial methods.
