Amanda Poskitt
@amandaposkitt
Doctor of Pharmacy student advancing evidence-driven patient care through clinical and translational research.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Doctor of Pharmacy student with a strong foundation in biomedical science, clinical pharmacy practice, and translational research. I’m motivated to deepen my work in pharmaceutical research and help develop evidence-driven strategies that improve therapeutic effectiveness and patient outcomes.
In my pharmacy intern role at CarelonRx, I reviewed medication requests against clinical guidelines to support appropriate, evidence-based use. I help ensure patients receive needed therapies while promoting safe, cost-effective care, and I assist in developing prior authorizations and implementing clinical programs.
Alongside pharmacy training, I contribute to research and AI-enabled learning. As an Advanced Biology AI trainer, I develop high-level Biology prompts for Language Learning Models (LLMs) and correct for logical answers and reasoning to drive the most productive generative AI outcomes. As a READDI Antiviral Research Intern, I evaluated the progress of AVIDD centers and sifted peer-reviewed literature to track drug inhibitor research over time.
My research continues to focus on real-world impact through optimized data and actionable insights. As a Research and Scholarship Program student researcher, I’m using artificial intelligence to identify Naloxone points in North Carolina, working on data-collection optimization and building an AI strategy that’s quick, effective, and replicable to other states.

Researcher - Naloxone AI
UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy
Nov 2025 - Present (7 months)
Working on optimizing data collection to determine free naloxone placement across North Carolina. Developing an AI strategy to make information gathering quicker, effective, and replicable to other states.
Developed high-level Biology prompts to improve coverage in language learning models (LLMs). Corrected for logical answers and reasoning to drive more productive generative AI outcomes.
Pharmacy Intern
CarelonRx
Aug 2025 - Apr 2026 (8 months)
Reviewed medication requests against clinical guidelines and criteria to support appropriate, evidence-based use. Assisted with prior authorizations and supported implementation of clinical programs to promote safe, cost-effective care.
Antiviral Research Intern
Eshelman Innovation
Feb 2025 - May 2025 (3 months)
Evaluated the progress of nine AVIDD centers in the United States formed after the 2020 NIH grant. Conducted peer-reviewed literature review focused on drug inhibitors and tracked progress over the past five years.
Research Assistant
Quinnipiac University
Mar 2023 - Jun 2024 (1 year 3 months)
Examined the presence of Syntaxin-1 in learned helplessness rat models to study vesicle docking and fusion of the SNARE complex in the context of Major Depressive Disorder. Used Western blotting to observe syntaxin presence in the target protein.
Student Researcher
Quinnipiac University
Jan 2024 - May 2024 (4 months)
Conducted a CRISPR-mediated genome editing project targeting the ADE2 gene in Saccharomyces cerevisiae using recombinant plasmids. Determined whether CRISPR editing was successful by validating genome changes at the targeted locus.
