At Simi Valley Unified School District, I run and maintain a middle school library, reimagining it as a resource and safe space for students.
I order and catalog books based on students’ interests and needs, and procure library funding through grants. I also received an award from Corwin Publishing.
Previously, as a Library Associate Youth Services at Simi Valley Public Library, I assisted the children’s librarian with programming and collections. I processed books, created displays, and provided bilingual services to patrons from diverse backgrounds.
