Reed Moore
@reedmoore
I am a public librarian specializing in circulation, cataloguing, and community-focused collection development.
What I'm looking for
I am a Master of Library and Information Studies (Cum Laude) with hands-on experience in public libraries, cataloguing, and special collections.
At Dennis Public & Memorial Libraries I cultivate proficiency in general circulation duties while using Koha and Aspen, assist patrons, process new materials, and manage bibliographic record review and data entry. During an internship at Oak Bluffs Public Library I created and authored twelve physical and online subject guides for an African American special collection and helped develop weeding and collection development policies.
Earlier roles include Library Page work at Vineyard Haven Public Library and Special Student Map Assistant at the W. E. B. DuBois Library map collection at UMass Amherst, where I catalogued, labeled, organized a 150,000-item map collection, and repaired materials. I also design promotional materials to highlight library digital content and support circulation workflows, reserves, and daily shipments.
I bring strong attention to detail, a commitment to community service, and practical skills in cataloging, processing, and special collections curation. I enjoy collaborative work that improves patron access and strengthens local history and special collections.
