What I'm looking for

I’m looking for an entry-level role in electrical engineering/industrial automation where I can apply PLC programming and electrical troubleshooting, learn from experienced engineers, and contribute to power systems, renewable energy, and electric-mobility solutions.

I’m an Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduate from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), currently awaiting graduation. I’m motivated and detail-oriented, with a strong interest in electric mobility and sustainable transportation systems. I bring practical experience in troubleshooting electrical systems, programming PLCs, and implementing industrial control systems.

Through industrial attachments, I strengthened my hands-on skills across both electrical and mechanical environments. At Oyster Electrical, I executed troubleshooting and repair of electrical faults, installed and tested lighting circuits, and supported panel setup and conduit routing while following electrical safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO). At Kenya Railways Workshop, I maintained and repaired diesel engines, supported diagnostics for electrical circuits and ignition/power generation components, and worked with sensors, relays, and wiring harnesses to resolve faults.

I also gained industrial exposure at Devki Steel Mills through transformer distribution work, installation and maintenance of motors, motor starters, power cables, and welding machines, and diagnosing issues like short circuits and blown fuses. My final year project—an automated bird deterrence system using computer vision and drone actuation—combined embedded ML deployment on a Raspberry Pi 4 with an off-grid solar PV subsystem designed using PVsyst and Meteonorm, plus a Node.js/React command centre for remote monitoring. As a research fellow at Shamiri Institute and a leader in multiple activities, I’m confident I’ll contribute reliable, documented problem-solving in power systems, renewable energy, and industrial automation.
