At Wikimedia I am a free knowledge advocate, who is very interested in surfacing expert knowledge and information for public audiences. In my volunteer and work roles with the Wikimedia community. Without changing how both expert communities and Wikimedia communities engage with each other or the world's knowledge, we have no hope in creating a public knowledge commons which meaningfully addresses key issues like human rights or climate change-- my goal is to facilitate that changing perspective.
In the past decade at the Wikimedia Foundation, I have facilitated dozens of international partnerships in the library, NGO, and climate sector; advised on program design for 100s of innovate social change programs around the world funded by Wikimedia communities; helped Wikimedia communities join other movements in human rights, climate and cultural heritage; trained 100s of volunteer around the world to run better activities, and successfully championed several major product interventions on Wikimedia projects responsible for millions of volunteer contributions.
