At Jimma University, I teach computing courses and have contributed to undergraduate and postgraduate student mentoring. As Software Engineering program coordinator, I contributed to curriculum reviews and development, including curriculum development for Aviation Software Engineering.
In 2024 and 2025, the Software Engineering program achieved a 100% success rate in the National Exit Exam. I also co-advise MSc research on topics including deep learning for disease diagnosis and handwritten text recognition.
My research interests include machine learning, deep learning, explainable AI, and human-computer interaction. I’m currently participating in research on forecasting the economic impact of the Ethiopian aviation industry and an ongoing project on AI-based portable defibrillators.
