I am a 7th academic term (12 terms total) Information and Communication Technologies Engineering student with a strong focus on Data Engineering and Analytics. Over the past months, I have been building a professional portfolio project that simulates a real‑world banking environment: a fully functional Data Warehouse with SQL Server, a Python‑based ETL pipeline, and a Power BI dashboard.

The project taught me how to solve common data quality issues (duplicates, missing values, inconsistent formats) and how to design a Star Schema that supports fast analytical queries. What I am most proud of, however, is the security layer I implemented. I designed and tested Row‑Level Security (RLS) on both the fact table and the customer dimension, using inline table‑valued functions and security policies. I also applied Dynamic Data Masking to protect sensitive PII (Cedula, Email, Phone), granting UNMASK only to auditors, admins, and the ETL service account.

My technical toolkit includes SQL Server (T‑SQL, indexing, optimization), Python (Pandas, SQLAlchemy), Power BI (DAX, dashboards, RLS integration), and Git for version control. I am currently learning SQL Server Native Auditing and exploring cloud platforms like Azure SQL to understand how to migrate on‑premise security to the cloud.

I am looking for an internship or entry‑level Data Engineering position where I can contribute to building robust, secure data platforms while continuing to learn from experienced professionals. I am particularly interested in companies that value clean code, data governance, and security‑by‑design.

Beyond technical skills, I enjoy writing clear documentation, collaborating in agile teams, and always asking “why” before implementing a solution. I believe the best data engineers are not just coders, but problem solvers who understand the business context behind the data.
