Alejandra Quintanilla
@alejandraquintanilla
Special education apprentice teacher supporting bilingual, diverse learners through individualized instruction and translation.
What I'm looking for
I’m an enthusiastic educator with a B.A. in English and Secondary School History, and I currently serve as a SPED Apprentice Teacher focused on making rigorous learning accessible for all students. I support upper school scholars (grades 6–10) in both general and special education settings, always with an engaging, virtue-centered classroom culture.
In my role, I collaborate with lead teachers to implement IEP accommodations and differentiated instruction for diverse learners. I provide small-group and one-on-one support across reading comprehension, writing, history, and other core subjects, and I assist with individualized academic guidance for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, and processing challenges.
I bring strong bilingual communication skills—native Spanish proficiency with real-time English/Spanish translation and tutoring assistance for Spanish-speaking students and families. I also help maintain clear, confidential communication with parents, teachers, SPED coordinators, and campus staff regarding student progress and needs while adhering to Texas Educator Code of Ethics and IDEA compliance standards.
Before this current position, I served as a substitute teacher in Northside Independent School District and San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District, building experience in classroom instruction, student engagement, and behavior management. Outside the classroom, I’ve volunteered for 15 years with community food distribution and bilingual interpretation, strengthening my ability to support families with compassion and clarity.
