Akshit Gaur
@akshitgaur
I build high-performance Rust kernels, schedulers, and machine learning systems.
What I'm looking for
At Redox OS, I build Rust microkernel scheduling infrastructure and performance tooling. I replaced the legacy Round-Robin scheduler with Interleaved DWRR, improving context-switch throughput by 48% and interactive framerates by 15% under heavy CPU contention.
I then architected an EEVDF scheduler with per-core runqueues and dynamic work-stealing, eliminating O(N) linear scans. The implementation delivered a 782x improvement in fairness variance, an 82% reduction in context-switch latency, and 2.6x throughput over the DWRR baseline.
Alongside systems work, I implement ONNX operators and Depth Anything V3 in Rust with Burn, and document xv6-RISCV internals including spinlocks, AMOSWAP, Sv39 paging, and multicore boot.
