I modeled a steady-state bio-ethanol production flowsheet in Aspen Plus, covering fermentation, beer stripping, and multi-effect distillation. I selected the NRTL thermodynamic model for the polar, non-ideal ethanol-water system.
For the project, I optimized distillation column parameters to achieve 99.73% ethanol purity in the distillate. I also compared separation performance across molasses grades by varying feed composition and fermentation yield assumptions.
At Parason Machinery India Pvt. Ltd., I monitored chemical process parameters and plating bath conditions for nickel and hard chrome plating. I supported troubleshooting of process and quality deviations and performed chemical analysis during production.
As an Intern – Production at Privi Specialty Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., I assisted with monitoring the multiphase hydrogenation of Alpha-Pinene to Cis-Pinene. I also interpreted Process Flow Diagrams and monitored operating parameters during plant operations.
