I’m a Backend Engineer with hands-on production experience building REST APIs in Python (Django/DRF) and a strong foundation in Go from an intensive bootcamp. I specialize in query optimization, database design, and shipping versioned API improvements that hold up under real traffic.

In my current internship at Chronicle, I’ve owned core API contributions as the sole intern contributor alongside senior engineers—resolving tickets across merged PRs and delivering measurable performance gains. I cut P99 latency on DocumentProviderView from 49,346 ms to ~5,200 ms by eliminating N+1 queries and removing gc.collect() overhead, and reduced P99 on CustomFieldsView PUT from ~40 minutes to 268 ms by implementing proper user-scoped filtering.

I also enjoy building end-to-end systems that blend backend engineering with AI workflows, like an offline-first RAG pipeline using Tesseract.js OCR, MiniLM embeddings, and local Vectra-backed inference with Gemma 4 via Ollama. I’m motivated by pragmatic engineering—clean scoping, fast queries, reliable auth, and production-ready integrations (payments, webhooks, and deployments).
