Aaron Branham
@aaronbranham
Senior software developer specializing in mainframe insurance systems and Assembler/JCL improvements.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Senior Software Developer focused on supporting and improving Protective’s Inforce policies system, Life-Comm (LFCM). Since June 2019, I’ve worked on the LFCM Cycle team, providing support, updates, and improvements, and I periodically provide on-call support for a nightly batch cycle and a real-time daily system.
I use IBM Assembler and JCL as my primary languages, along with COBOL and Easytrieve. I work in a semi-agile process with daily standups and a story board, and I’ve been trusted to train and mentor new hires and interns. I’ve also earned a Highly Effective rating in 2020, 2023, and 2025.
My path started as an Intern May 2018–August 2018, where I was trained on the Life-Comm (LFCM) maintenance system for over 3 million active policies and contributed to a hackathon project to improve Protective’s career website. I later served as a Part-Time Software Developer (August 2018–Spring 2019) while continuing to build my mainframe expertise, and I strengthened my foundation through a B.S. in Computer Information Systems, including Java, C++, Python, and COBOL, plus Scrum-focused agile study.
