At Edmonton Catholic Schools, I planned and implemented behavioral support programs for students, monitored their progress, and worked alongside classroom teams. I built rapport with a newly enrolled student diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, earning their trust and cooperation within a week.
As an In Home Support Worker, I supported a young woman with Down Syndrome through a customized daily care plan and collaborated with her support team on Behavior Intervention Plans. I used positive behavior support and de-escalation techniques to help her through a tense situation and adapted activities to her needs.
My experience also includes telehealth counselling training and volunteer work supporting children, elders, and families. As a Research Assistant at University of Alberta, I contributed to water-purification research using organic chemistry techniques and presented a project on chicken feathers as a sustainable, cost-effective solution.
