Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Zamboni Operator to oversee and manage ice maintenance operations at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily ice maintenance operations, ensuring a high-quality ice surface is consistently maintained.
- Operate the Zamboni and other ice maintenance equipment, performing routine inspections and maintenance as needed.
- Train and mentor junior operators on best practices for ice maintenance and Zamboni operation.
- Monitor and adjust ice conditions based on user feedback and activity requirements, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of ice conditions, maintenance activities, and equipment usage.
- Collaborate with facility management to schedule ice maintenance around events and public skating sessions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, fostering a culture of safety within the team.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in ice maintenance preferred.
- 3+ years of experience operating Zamboni or similar ice maintenance equipment.
- Strong understanding of ice maintenance processes and techniques.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a recreational or sports facility environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to ice maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on Zamboni and related equipment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the operation of Zamboni and other ice resurfacing machines.
- Familiarity with basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
