Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Paving Crew Supervisor to lead our paving operations, ensuring that projects are completed with the utmost quality and efficiency. This role requires a strong background in paving management, a commitment to safety, and the ability to oversee a team of skilled workers on various job sites. You will play a critical role in coordinating activities and resources to achieve project milestones and deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the paving crew, ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies.
- Plan and schedule paving projects, including resource allocation, equipment usage, and material procurement.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites to monitor progress and ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
- Provide training and mentorship to crew members, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to communicate project status, challenges, and solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including labor hours, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for all crew members.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in paving operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of paving techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate heavy machinery.
Preferred:
- Experience with asphalt and concrete paving.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- OSHA Safety Certification or equivalent.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of paving equipment and machinery, including pavers, rollers, and graders.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations related to paving operations.
