Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Ice Skating Coach to lead our skating program at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive training plans tailored to various skill levels, focusing on technical skills, performance improvement, and competitive readiness.
- Lead on-ice sessions, providing direct instruction and feedback to skaters to enhance their techniques and competitive edge.
- Mentor and supervise assistant coaches, ensuring alignment with the program's objectives and best practices.
- Coordinate with athletes and their families to set individual goals and facilitate progress tracking.
- Organize and oversee competitions, exhibitions, and other events to showcase athlete development and promote the skating program.
- Act as the primary liaison between the skating program and the broader community, including schools, organizations, and local events.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of coaching experience at the competitive level, with a focus on ice skating disciplines.
- Strong understanding of ice skating techniques, training methodologies, and athlete development.
- Proven track record of coaching athletes to achieve competition success.
- Current certification in first aid and CPR.
Preferred:
- Experience working with diverse age groups and skill levels.
- Professional coaching certification from a recognized skating organization.
- Knowledge of sports psychology and its application in coaching.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in analyzing skating techniques and performance metrics.
- Experience utilizing video analysis tools to enhance training sessions and athlete feedback.
- Familiarity with athlete management systems for tracking performance and progress.
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with athletes, parents, and staff.
