Role Overview
We are seeking an Aquatics Director to lead and manage our aquatic programs, ensuring a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for all participants. This role will involve strategic oversight of aquatic operations, staff management, and program development, all in alignment with our commitment to promoting health, wellness, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee all aquatic programs, including swim lessons, lifeguard training, and recreational swimming activities
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards to maintain a safe aquatic environment for staff and participants
- Recruit, train, and supervise aquatics staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, professional development, and exceptional customer service
- Manage the budget for aquatic programs, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, and identifying opportunities for financial growth
- Collaborate with community organizations to promote aquatic programs and events, enhancing community outreach and engagement
- Conduct regular evaluations of aquatic programs, utilizing participant feedback and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in aquatics management or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of aquatic safety standards, lifeguarding, and swim instruction
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED, and lifeguarding
Preferred:
- Experience managing large teams and complex aquatic facilities
- Proven track record of developing successful aquatic programs and community partnerships
- Master's degree in a relevant field
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in managing facility operations, including scheduling, maintenance, and compliance
- Experience with software for scheduling, enrollment, and reporting for aquatic programs
- Knowledge of swim program methodologies and industry best practices
