Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Aquatics Director to lead our aquatic programs and ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants. This role will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of aquatics initiatives, while fostering a culture of excellence and inclusion within our team and community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive aquatics programs that meet the needs of diverse community members
- Lead, mentor, and train aquatics staff to ensure high standards of safety and service
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for all aquatics operations
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement risk management strategies to ensure compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to promote aquatics programs and increase participation
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvements
- Ensure the maintenance of aquatic facilities and equipment to provide a safe and welcoming environment
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in aquatics management or a related field
- Current certifications in lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and first aid
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and managing teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage budgets and operational plans effectively
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in recreation management, sports management, or a related field
- Experience with program evaluation and data analysis
- Knowledge of aquatic facility operations and maintenance
- Experience working with diverse populations and promoting inclusive programming
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and aquatics management software
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in aquatics
- Ability to analyze data and produce reports on program performance
