Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant Aquatics Director to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Aquatics Director in overseeing all aquatic programs, ensuring safety protocols, staff training, and high-quality aquatic experiences for our community. Your expertise in aquatic management will be crucial in enhancing our programs and fostering a culture of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of aquatic programs that align with our community's needs and safety standards
- Supervise aquatic staff, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality service and adherence to safety regulations
- Monitor and maintain aquatic facilities and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
- Assist in the management of budgets for aquatic programs, including staffing, supplies, and facility maintenance
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote aquatic programs and increase participation
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid as needed, ensuring the safety of all participants
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in aquatic program management or a similar role
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding
- Strong knowledge of aquatic safety standards and emergency response protocols
Preferred:
- Experience in staff supervision and training
- Familiarity with budgeting and program development
- Certification in Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or equivalent
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in aquatic management software and scheduling tools
- Ability to analyze program data and metrics for continuous improvement
- Familiarity with maintaining aquatic facilities and equipment
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with staff and community members
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and collaboration
