Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Steel Rolling Supervisor to lead our remote operations team in the steel manufacturing process. This role is critical in ensuring optimal production efficiency, adherence to safety standards, and the implementation of best practices throughout the rolling process. As a key player in our organization, you will oversee the daily activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure quality assurance in our steel fabrication.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the rolling mill team, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Monitor the rolling process and make real-time adjustments to optimize performance and reduce downtime
- Implement maintenance schedules and ensure equipment is properly maintained to minimize disruptions
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety protocols
- Train, coach, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in steel production or manufacturing with a focus on rolling processes
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
- Strong understanding of rolling mill operations, production processes, and quality control measures
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
Preferred:
- Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies
- Familiarity with automation technologies and process control systems
- Relevant certifications in manufacturing or quality assurance
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of steel rolling processes and equipment, including hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Proficient in using manufacturing software and tools for process monitoring and data analysis
- Experience with quality management systems and industry standards
