Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Grinding Supervisor to lead our grinding operations team. In this remote position, you will be responsible for overseeing the grinding process, ensuring that all metal products meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Your expertise will guide team members in optimizing processes, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining equipment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily grinding operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of grinding operators, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement grinding process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
- Conduct regular inspections of grinding equipment and tools, coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, equipment maintenance, and team performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in metal grinding operations, with a proven track record in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of grinding processes, equipment, and materials.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and drive performance improvements.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in manufacturing environments.
Preferred:
- Experience with CNC grinding machines and automated grinding systems.
- Familiarity with quality control methodologies and metrics.
- Technical certifications in machining or manufacturing processes.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of various grinding equipment, including surface, cylindrical, and centerless grinders.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software for process optimization.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
