Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Shrimp Farm Manager to oversee the operations of our aquaculture facilities. This role is essential to optimizing shrimp production while maintaining sustainability practices and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. You will lead a team in implementing advanced farming techniques and contribute significantly to our mission of delivering high-quality seafood products.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the shrimp farm, ensuring optimal health and growth of shrimp populations.
- Develop and implement effective aquaculture strategies to maximize yield and quality of shrimp products.
- Monitor and maintain water quality, feed management, and biosecurity protocols to ensure a healthy farming environment.
- Lead and train farm staff in best practices for shrimp farming and operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits of farm operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with environmental specialists to ensure compliance with local and national regulations regarding aquaculture practices.
- Manage budgets, resources, and supply chains effectively to achieve operational goals.
- Analyze production data and prepare reports to present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing shrimp or aquaculture farms with a proven track record of success.
- Strong knowledge of shrimp farming practices, including breeding, feeding, and disease management.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a diverse team.
- Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions based on production metrics.
Preferred:
- Experience with sustainable aquaculture practices and certification processes.
- Familiarity with automated farming technologies and data management systems.
- Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
